The Sweetest Ride at the L.A. Auto Show

bike

LOS ANGELES — Oh sure, we love the Audi e-tron electric car and we want some time alone with a Porsche Boxster Spyder, but these are the wheels that flipped our switch at the Los Angeles Auto Show. After two days of weak coffee, greasy pizza and bad burgers, we’re ready to ride back to San Francisco on this baby.

We found this Rawland Ravn single-speed atop a Suzuki of some kind — we were so distracted by the bike we didn’t bother looking at the car. Why would we? Just look at those sexy steel tubes, gleaming cranks and the old-school Brooks saddle. We haven’t seen a bike this hot since the last time we were in shape.

Rawlands are made in Minnesota by a guy who grew up riding Bridgestones. We’re guessing he’s wearing wool. The bike gets bonus points for the built-in bottle opener on the dropout, because we’re about ready for a cold one.
